Thank you for choosing Japale ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Japale (the "App"), available on Google Play Store (Package: com.japale.app). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Personal Information

When you create an account on Japale, we may collect the following personal information:


Email Address — Used for account creation, authentication, and communication.

Display Name / Username — Used to identify you within the community.

Profile Avatar / Fluttermoji Configuration — Your custom avatar preferences stored for personalization.

Profile Bio — Optional biographical information you choose to provide.


1.2 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about your activity within the App, including:


Sadhana (Spiritual Practice) History — Mantra chanting sessions, counts, durations, and timestamps.

Posts and Comments — Content you create, share, like, or comment on within the community feed.

Chat Messages — Direct messages exchanged with other users.

Follow/Following Data — Your social connections within the App.

Leaderboard & Ranking Data — Your spiritual practice scores and rankings.

Device Information — Device type, operating system, and app version for analytics and troubleshooting.


1.3 Notification Data

Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) Token — Used to send push notifications about community activity, messages, and updates.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:


To create, maintain, and secure your account.

To enable social features such as posting, commenting, chatting, following, and leaderboard rankings.

To track and display your personal sadhana (spiritual practice) progress and history.

To send push notifications about messages, follows, likes, comments, and community updates.

To personalize your experience with custom avatars and profile settings.

To display advertisements through Google AdMob.

To improve and optimize the App's performance and user experience.

To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security vulnerabilities.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information:


3.1 Google Firebase

Firebase Authentication — For secure user sign-in and account management.

Cloud Firestore — For storing user profiles, posts, messages, sadhana history, and community data.

Firebase Cloud Functions — For server-side processing.

3.2 Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the App.

We use Google Fonts (Poppins) for typography rendering.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase Cloud Firestore, which employs industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

Some data (such as local preferences and diary notes) may be stored locally on your device using Hive (an encrypted local database).

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.


5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to third parties. We may share information only in the following cases:


With Your Consent — When you voluntarily share content (posts, comments, profile information) publicly within the App's community.

Third-Party Service Providers — With Google Firebase and Google AdMob as described in Section 3, solely for the purpose of providing and improving the App's services.

Legal Requirements — If required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

Safety — To protect the rights, property, or safety of Japale, our users, or others.


6. Children's Privacy

Japale is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information from our servers immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.


7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:


Access — Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Correction — Request correction of any inaccurate personal data.

Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data.

Data Portability — Request a copy of your data in a portable format.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. If you wish to delete your account, please contact us, and we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes are effective when they are posted on this page.


11 User-Generated Content (UGC) Policy


Japale allows users to share posts, progress, and messages. To maintain a safe and respectful spiritual community, we have implemented the following moderation tools:

  1. Reporting Content: Users can report any post or profile that violates our community guidelines (e.g., nudity, violence, harassment, or spam). Every report is sent to our administrative team for a manual review.

  2. Blocking Users: Users have the right to block any other user at any time. Once blocked, the offending user's posts will be hidden from the blocker's feed, and they will no longer be able to initiate chat interactions.

  3. Content Removal & Account Suspension: Our administrators review reported content within 24 hours. We reserve the right to remove inappropriate content and permanently suspend accounts that repeatedly violate our safety policies.
